Labor Day Weekend!

Helloooo Dearies!

I feel like Labor Day Weekend lasted an entire week, that's how busy we were. I drank my weight in Strawberitas and ate to my heart's content. I saw so many people and had such a great time, I wish it could have all lasted another couple of days. But alas, 'tis Tuesday, and it's time to return back to the grind.

Friday night Bradley and I road tripped down to St. Louis for Hubby Jack's Chris' surprise 30th birthday party thrown by none other than everyone's favorite blogger/supermom/former Hanson fanatic Holly!
We were so excited to see Haven & Olive, as well as Holly and Chris' new house. The house was absolutely beautiful and I couldn't get over how big it is! The birthday boy was totally surprised, and he got lots of awesome gifts that he awkwardly opened in front of all of his guests. We thought we were being cool by getting him a Taco Bell gift card, but someone else had the same idea. I guess err'body knows Chris Stanfield loves his TB.

I was so stoked about meeting some of the bloggers that Holly mentioned were going to be there, I was giddy the entire car ride down. After we'd been there for a while and I'd had a few drinks in me, I asked Holly to introduce me to Mel, Jennifer, and Tim. I obviously needed to bring my A-game to talk to these people that I creep on daily. The only way to do that was through Strawberitas and vodka gummy bears. I also had to coach myself to call them by their real names and not missmel_joy, FatChick2FitChick, and Timbobbbb like their Instagram names. Very serious business.

They were all seriously so funny and so cool, just like they are in their blogs. I literally laughed so hard my face hurt. Mel's is so pretty and so so funny, and her husband E is a riot and such a rad dude. Yeah, I said rad! Tim was hysterical and his twerking had us all in stitches. Jennifer gave me the low down on the blogging world and kept it really real, which I absolutely loved.

My only regret is not getting a picture with Jennifer and Tim. But after Bradley took my picture with Holly, Chris, and Mel he looked through them and said "These pictures should have been taken about 6 hours ago." Really? Last time I checked you don't look so pretty after you've been drinking either Bradley. He would pay for that comment with the massive hangover he received after attending a bachelor party Saturday night. Muah-ha-ha-ha-ha.

So, Saturday we drove home early from STL so that Bradley could attend his friend's bachelor party. I spent the afternoon catching up on my DVR, and I'm finally caught up on all the Housewive's except Miami. Hallelujah! Saturday night I had dinner and drinks with some of my friends and waited for the hot mess express to get dropped off by the party bus.

Sunday I had to listen to Bradley whine and complain about his hangover pretty much all day long. Then he finally perked up a little bit in the evening, so I decided repay him for driving me nuts by drinking Strawberitas in front of him and making him watch Mean Girls. With Chordie snuggled up in between us, it was a lovely way to end the evening with my little family.
Monday, Bradley and I got up early and took Chordie to Starbucks for a puppyccino. She's not supposed to stray from her strict diet because of her Stomatitis, but every now and then I like to treat her anyway. Plus, I needed my first Pumpkin Spice Latte of the season, so off we went. After doing some shopping in the afternoon, we went to my sister's for a cookout. We spent the majority of the time ripping on my 15 year old niece Kjirsten for wearing this shirt that left her boobs hanging out all over the place. We're the kind of family that, if we tease you, it means we really like you. At least, that's what my sisters always told me as a kid when they would incessantly pick on me?

I finally got to see D,K, & G as well. It had been a week since I had seen them last, which is the longest I've ever gone without seeing them since the day they were born. This new job thing definitely has its drawbacks sometimes. When I pulled up, D & K ran over and were waiting by my door to give me hugs & kisses. G has to be difficult, and won't openly give anyone affection without them working for it. So when I walked up to him to say hi and give him hugs & kisses, he threw a wet rag at me. The new job thing definitely has its perks as well.

Holly sent me a text telling me about Skinny Meg's diet bet, and encouraged me to join. I've never done a diet bet before, but Holly was telling us about it on Friday night. Basically, you go to this website and pay the entry fee, upload your before picture and a picture of your weight on the scale, and in 28 days if you lose 4% of your body weight or more, you get to split the pot. So I convinced Bradley to jump on board as well and now we're both doing Skinny Meg's Diet bet.
I desperately need to do this diet bet for two reasons: 1. I'm at that weight where the indention of my belly button makes my stomach look like it's smiling and 2. I need some accountability and incentive to get myself started. I have 0 motivation right now. With all of the changes that have taken place in the last two months, I've put on 8.6 pounds. Bradley and I both need to get back on track and I really think this is a great way to get us started.
So there it is. Both of our starting weights. We can't go back now, and that's probably a good thing. I hope this gives us the encouragement, motivation, and accountability we need to kick our asses back into shape. Plus, winning a couple bucks wouldn't be a bad thing either :)

I hope everyone had an awesome Labor Day weekend! Has anyone else ever done a diet bet? How did it work out for you?

  1. We had such a great time with you guys. No picture just means we have together again soon to rectify that situation!

  2. Good luck with the Diet Bet!

And, really random, but I LOVE your hair!

    Happy Tuesday!

  3. Stawberitas!!Yum. At Cheddars they have what's called a Strawbericolada. That's my drinky drank!
Looks like you had a fantastic weekend.
Okay, you seriously cracked me up with "my belly button makes my stomach look like it's smiling".hahaha
I know exactly what you mean. It's funny that after losing some of the weight my belly begins to look like it's frowning. WHY? Why are you sad, Belly? We should be happy to be deflating.

  4. Sipping my first pumpkin spice as I read (and pretend to work) :) I too consumed my fair share of strawberita's this weekend and enjoyed some pool time as well! Love extended weekends!!

  5. What is a puppyccino? I bet my pups would love it!

  6. Diet Bet, here she comes!! Rock it out, girlfriend.

  7. Good luck on the Diet Bet, yo! It's a great way to get some accountability and I hope you both get some cash money! Also, what is this puppyccino you speak of? I must know!

  8. What a great weekend!! Can't wait to read about the Diet Bet!

  9. Sadly I have to agree that the smily belly turns into a frowny belly when its flattened. But its a negative that I will gladly keep rather than returning to a smily belly!

  10. Good luck on the diet bet! Seems like a great way to stay motivated! Winning money is fun ;) Hope the pup enjoyed her puppyccino. I may need to investigate it more and get one for my pup!

  11. I joined that diet bet too! I'm nervous because I lost my last one:-(

  12. Good Luck on the bet! I read it too, I cannot even seem to lose one pound, pretty sure that I'd be just throwing my money away :)
Can't wait to hear about your results.

  13. I'm mad too that we didn't get pics together!!! I'm so proud of both of you guys for making a lifestyle change. Jenn and I are rooting for you guys and can't wait until we can hang out again soon!

  14. Hiiiiii!!!! Im Kimmyyyyyy the one you were missing on friday night. You will soon learn. BOOMER!

  15. I think that scale is lying and telling you that you weigh more than you actually do!

Hope you win the bet :)
